Our Foster Program

Become a Foster Hero

Opening your heart and home to care for an animal in need temporarily is a truly special act of kindness. Our foster heroes are vital in helping our Hopeful Hearts prepare for their forever homes.

  • Make a Lifesaving Impact: Your care helps animals thrive, preparing them for adoption.
  • Family-friendly Opportunity: Fostering teaches children responsibility and compassion through hands-on pet interaction.
  • Flexible Time Commitment: Foster for a few weeks or months, depending on the animal’s needs and your availability.
  • Shelter Support: We provide all the essentials—food, medical care, supplies, and guidance—so you can focus on giving love.

Foster Needs

Fostering is a rewarding experience, providing a loving home environment for animals not quite ready for adoption. Many of our fosters include:

  • Pregnant dogs and cats who need a safe space to give birth
  • Kittens and puppies who are too young to be spayed or neutered
  • Animals needing extra socialization or recovery time before adoption

Growing up in a home, rather than a shelter, helps these animals become well-socialized, confident, and ready to become one of the Lucky Ones in their forever families. Spring often brings an influx of pregnant moms, kittens, and puppies, so we’ll soon need more foster homes to provide the care they deserve.
